The current exhibit includes two amazing artists: Rob McPherson and Susan Bagrationoff.
When you reach the top of the stairs, you will see a fantastically colorful piece called 90 days. It is an abstract representation of a calendar, and would look amazing in a large foyer, or as a statement piece in an office.
Turning to the left, you will see a number of plein air paintings of spaces and places around the palouse. If you love this area as much as I do, you would do well to grab on to one of these pieces before they are gone.
You will also find a Modern Day Manet, a nod to the famous A Bar at the Folies-Bergere featuring a local bartender at our very own Etsi Bravo.
Finally, we come to my favorite part of the display: The mannequin series. Rob has created series like these in the past: Barbies, Pez dispensers, but none have been as big as these, literally. The practically life sized dress form paintings really show the depth and beauty of Rob’s eye to take the ordinary to extraordinary.
Susan sees faces. And that’s a good thing. Whether she is walking through the woods in and around the Pacific Northwest, looking at a sunset, or merely stepping over a puddle, she sees the fairy folk who live in the natural world, and she brings them to life in her paintings. Each one unique in color and composition, but all amazing.
“In a world of so much chaos, an escape into the realm of faeries brings peace and glamour into our dimension. Faeries always hold my fascination when I encounter them within our realm. I utilize the magic within my artistic soul to summon these creatures so that anyone can experience their charm and be inspired to believe in what they cannot see.
My work is conjured onto canvas using copious amounts of modeling paste and acrylic paints with multiple layers of various brushstrokes and the use of palette knife techniques. Brilliant colors and metallic hues are used to enable the faeries to emphasize their `vibe`, inspiring the viewer to discover the essence of these beings. The texture of their skin, hair and backgrounds are vital to conveying the elemental qualities of each fae. I am perpetually discovering new ways to bring my faeries to life so they can gaze upon us humans as we admire their portraits.”

October is Spooky Season, and as such we will have some costumes and accessories available for purchase in October. Additionally, keep an eye out for tie-ins with the author Travis Baldtree coming for Everybody Reads, including this:
Fresh Finds
In the shop you will find back to school items and specials. Think notebooks, pencils, scissors, etc. We want to be your first thought as you shop local rather than at a big box.
But Wait! There’s More…
Classes – We are working on our Adult Classes (and occasional Kid Klasses). Classes will be held on Tuesday or Saturday evenings. Our first class is a mini painting class in honor of Travis coming to Pullman. He is even going to judge them on the night of November 5th. (sign up)
